Batesville, Arkansas
Batesville is the county seat of Independence County, approximately 80 miles northeast of Little Rock. The trade region for Independence County includes five other counties - Cleburne, Izard, Jackson, Sharp, and Stone Counties. This creates a total trade population count of 118,386 for the town of Batesville. Of our six major employers, the poultry processing companies such as ConAgra and Townsends are the largest industrial employers, with more than 3,000 employees. Seconded by White River Medical Center with 902 employees. GDX Automotive and White Rodgers manufacturing companies employ a combined total of 1350. Eastman Chemical Company, maker of industrial chemicals, employs 548, including many professionals.
